The University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals Development Consortium (UIPDC) was recently formed between with the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy pharmaceutics faculty and The University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals. The newly formed unit’s focus is preformulation and formulation development, especially for compounds that present scientific challenges (solubility, stability, polymorphism, etc.). The pharmaceutics faculty at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy average over 20 years of experience in applied pharmaceutical research and collectively have successfully conducted over 100 industrial pharmaceutical projects involving preformulation, material characterization, stability, and formulation and packaging development.
