“I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from and work with the best faculty and staff who are leading the practice of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences research,” said Vos. “I am looking forward to the next chapter in my book and am delighted that I will be able to continue pursuing my passion for the profession of pharmacy combined with working to develop the next generation of students, pharmacists, and faculty members.”

Vos joined the College in 2006 as an assistant professor and has served in leadership roles with experiential education, accreditation, and the residency teaching certificate program. Previously, she was a pharmacist at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

“Associate Dean Vos is an exemplary leader and colleague -- she embodies professionalism," said College of Pharmacy Dean and Professor Donald Letendre. "Under her direction, the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program is incredibly strong and on solid ground -- quite a feat after weathering the pandemic! We will miss her leadership and wish her the best at AACP.”

Vos graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science and a PharmD. She then completed a pharmacy practice (PGY1) residency in Memphis, Tennessee, followed by a PGY2 pediatric specialty residency in Charleston, South Carolina. Her research centers on the scholarship of teaching and learning, specifically related to experiential education, preceptor development, and students with disabilities.

As associate dean, Vos focused on admissions, recruitment, academic support and progression, student success, and student leadership development for the PharmD program. She was the pharmacy faculty representative for the UI Summer Health Professions Education Program and assisted in development and delivery of preceptor educational programs. Additionally, Vos coordinated and taught courses about leadership and professional development in the health sciences, and topics related to pediatric pharmacotherapy.

Associate Professor Amber Goedken has been named the College’s interim associate dean of Student Affairs while a national external search is conducted for Vos’ successor.
