Nicole Brogden—an assistant professor in the College of Pharmacy—and her research partner Nkanyezi (Kanya) Ferguson—clinical director and assistant professor of dermatology at the Carver College of Medicine—are conducting landmark clinical studies on microneedle patch technology. The researchers' aim is to radically improve healthcare delivery around the world.

One of the challenges of conducting research on genetically-diverse skin is finding clinical trial participants, and local African American participants are needed.
