| Research |
| Professor Carew
conducted pioneer research in the area of medicinal plant tissue culture
attempting to establish cultures of numerous medicinal plants. Part
of his research attempted to learn how medicinally active chemical
compounds are formed in plants as well as to produce medicinal compounds
using plant cell cultures as opposed to the normal plant. Professor
Carew retired from active teaching and research in 1993. |
