The fall semester usually kicks off with a rush week, during which the chapter holds events and activities like bowling, pizza night and a cookout. This gives new students a chance to get to know the brothers of Kappa Psi.
The chapter meets for regular meetings throughout the semester to plan for social events and fundraisers.
One of the many philanthropic events which Kappa Psi is involved with is cooking dinner once a month for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House . Each spring, we host a college-wide Bowl-A-Thon with all the proceeds benefiting the Ronald McDonald House. The chapter is also involved in giving educational talks to elementary students onanti- smoking.
Brothers are also participate in Dance Marathon, an annual fundraising event on campus. Brothers dance for 24 hours straight in order to raise money for children with cancer. The chapter sponsors families and helps raise money for the brothers who dance.
Throughout the semester, brothers practice their skills by providing free hypertension screenings at local community pharmacies.
Conclave is a Kappa Psi event that takes place every semester. Members of Kappa Psi travel to the different chapters in our province for a fun filled weekend and to catch up on everyone’s chapter news and business. It’s a great chance to get to know members of Kappa Psi at other schools.
To raise funds, the chapter has sold College of Pharmacy clothing, worked at restaurants for tips, and provided a pizza-lunch for students and faculty.
Most importantly, the members also get together for social events through out the semester. The activities allow brothers to get to know each other outside of school. Some events have included pumpkin carving, a Thanksgiving potluck dinner, comedy nights and going to sporting events together.
