CIMUC Overview Practice Development Education Focus Center Faculty Recent Activities
 

Faculty associated with the Center have contributed to the advancement of community pharmacy practice through scholarly activities including the publication of descriptive papers, textbooks, and presentations. In addition, faculty have worked with individual or groups of pharmacists, pharmacies and pharmacy organizations to re-engineer their services to optimize the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients in community settings. Practice development activities serve as a basis to learn how to improve medication use in the community.

Faculty associated with the Center have experience in implementing the following innovative patient care services in community pharmacy settings:

" Development of patient care services through community pharmacy resident projects at five community pharmacy sites associated with the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy Community Pharmacy Residency Program
" Development of patient care services on a contractual basis with community pharmacies (i.e., Main and Locust Pharmacy in Davenport Iowa, Outcomes Pharmaceutical Health Care, Integra Health office practices, Family medicine centers across Iowa)
" Providing consulting services to community pharmacy organizations
" Directing community pharmacy practice conversion to patient care emphasis statewide and on an individual pharmacy basis through site development activities and in conjunction with the Iowa Center for Pharmaceutical Care.
