Information technology MISSION

The mission of the Information Technology office at the College of Pharmacy is to work in partnership with faculty, staff, and students to facilitate their use of computer technology. We strive to empower users to effectively utilize technology resources by providing a reliable environment and responsive support services.

Our support services include:

  • Advise, develop, carry through, and support new technology models to improve the efficiency and productivity of college administrative systems, individual faculty members, researchers, and staff.
  • Computer workstation services by offering file server space to faculty, research groups, and staff.
  • Computer workstation services by offering back-up of faculty, staff, and research workstation data.
  • Technical support for faculty, staff, and student computing machines.
  • Increased communication by creating and maintaining the College's web site.
  • Application development including web interactivity and data collection.
  • Maintain College of Pharmacy classroom computer equipment.
  • Share knowledge and ideas regarding computer and technology issues.
  • Consult, train, and assist with technology skill-building.
  • Research and explore new technologies.
  • Leadership in policy development; the legal and ethical uses of information technology; new technology architectures; and coordination of and education about information-technology security.
  • Seeking out internal and external funding.
Our services are generally for the faculty, staff, and students for the entire college but focus mainly upon the three academic divisions, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Dean's Office. This involves 50 full time and 300 adjunct faculty members, 25 staff members, 85 graduate students, and 400 professional students. We do not provide desktop support for our three service divisions (nor maintain their web sites), or the ITC located within the college. We do, however, provide consulting services, share knowledge with, and provide training services to them.top of page
