Wireless network / equipment checkout
Wireless Network
The College of Pharmacy network is a part of the ITS/TNS wireless network project. (For more technical information, visit www.its.uiowa.edu/tns/data/wireless.htm.) There are numerous wireless access points within the pharmacy building, in the following areas: Zopf Auditoriums, Banker Student Activity Center, LRC, 5th floor classrooms, 2nd floor classrooms, and Pharmacy Practice Lab.
Wireless Contract
By checking out a wireless laptop with your student id, the following laptop policies and procedures are implied:
- Laptops can be checked out at the ITC Front Help Desk.
- Wireless laptops owned by the College of Pharmacy (equipment) may not leave the Pharmacy building.
- ITC laptops may only be checked out by UI, College of Pharmacy, registered students.
- A U of Iowa ID card is needed to check out a laptop.
- Laptops may be checked out from 8:00a-4:30p, all laptops must be back to the cart by 4:30p. (if a class runs past 5:00, instructor is responsible for making arrangements with the IT Office).
- Graduate students may check out a laptop overnight…..this must be documented as such, and they are due back by 9:00 a.m. the next morning.
- Power supply cords are also available for checkout, if needed.
- Theft or misuse of laptops, including hardware and software contents, will result in prosecution to the full extent of the law. Campus Security will be notified and a report/investigation will ensue.
- If a laptop is not returned after one week, and numerous attempts have been made to contact the student, the student will be charged the replacement cost of $1,200.00 to the student’s University of Iowa account.
- If a laptop is lost or stolen, the student will be will be charged the replacement cost of $1,200.00 to the student’s University of Iowa account.
Equipment available
The Information Technology office has various equipment to use in the classroom, for a special project or for travel. Call 5-8649 if you have questions or to reserve.
College of Pharmacy Faculty and Staff:
- 3 laptops for faculty and staff on a long-term basis (1 day up to 1 month) to use for special projects or for travel.
- 2 laptop carts each containing 11 Dell laptop computers. Intended for classroom teaching or for special projects.
- 2 video projectors.
- 2 video cameras with or without tripod.
- 2 digital cameras.
- Scanning station in LRC.
