post-graduate year 1 (PGY1) pharmacy residency Program

Welcome to the Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency web site for the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. We hope the information at this web site will provide you with the information you need to better understand our residency program.

Because of the strong alliance the College has with the State-wide network of Family Medicine residency programs, we believe that we can offer a top-notch residency in the ambulatory/primary care setting. Each of the family medicine faculty in the program has key involvement with their residency-based clinic. The goals and objectives of the program is to prepare clinical practitioners for practice in family medicine, or other ambulatory care settings. The practice sites can offer individualized curricula enabling our resident graduates to achieve their personal goals. The educational opportunities for the pharmacy resident are abundant because of the variety of learners (family medicine residents, medical students and Pharm.D. students) at our clinics.
