Evaluation of sedation in the medical intensive
care unit to be used to initiate guidelines - In Progress. |

Served as the pharmacist
on the Intensive Care Outreach project. This program involved
making site visits to rural hospital intensive care units,
conducting an in-depth evaluation of these units, and
providing recommendations for change based on national
standards of care. The team consisted of a physician,
a nurse, a respiratory therapist, and a dietician. At
the one-year mark, hospitals that we had had interactions
with were compared to hospitals where only the study nurse
did a chart review. By the end of the study, all of the
hospitals had had and intervention visit. Two publications
resulted from this project, PI: John Fieselmann, M.D., June 1993 – June
1995. |
